Sheffield’s authentic and independent spirit is reflected in its retail and there are several areas of the city where clusters of independent shops have grown to become quirky shopping districts in their own right.

From Sheffield-made wares produced by local makers and vintage treasures to designer boutiques, a quick trip out of the city centre and you'll find an eclectic mix of shops, bars and restaurants in distinctive areas, all of them worth spending time browsing around.

That’s not to say the city doesn’t do high-street though as there’s plenty on offer there also. Fargate and The Moor shopping precincts in the city centre are where you’ll find a host of big names, but within easy reach of independent places if you want to mix it up. Otherwise Meadowhall is Sheffield’s huge indoor shopping centre and the largest in Yorkshire, with pretty much any big retailer you can think of under its roof.
