"In the midst of loss, being seen and heard in our pain can be a powerful step toward healing. I am wanting to create a space for people to explore their own journey of grief, and in doing so, hopefully help others process and feel less alone in their journey too. Hi, my name's Chloe, I work in Pastoral Support in a School.
I have always wanted to attend a Death Cafe but I have found there are not many events in Sheffield - which I got super frustrated about because grief affects everyone and should be talked about more.
In my personal experience of grief - growing up with my grandparents - I find that the older generation find it difficult to talk about death , and I feel as though this isn't changing generationally.
So here's me doing my bit to seek change! I am hoping to use my knowledge of women's circles I have attended through the years, as well as using the skill set I have gained from my profession, to create an appropriate space for you to feel loss and grief.
I am not in anyway training in specific bereavement."
What to expect:
Please bring a journal and a pen as there will be some journaling prompts throughout the circle. If you would like to bring physical items to represent your lost loved ones, e.g. photos, toys, letters, then feel free.
Meet at Motore Cafe on Bingham Woods - feel free to grab a drink whilst you wait :)
Let this be a place where our grief can be held with tenderness and where healing can quietly begin.
