Flora, Fauna & Feasting | Rockingham Pottery Exhibition

The ritual of coming together to eat, drink and enjoy each other’s company unites people across the centuries. The exhibition Flora, Fauna & Feasting celebrates this – animating three of the State Rooms at Wentworth Woodhouse with table settings for breakfast, tea and dessert.

Each table presents Rockingham Pottery and contemporary craft, in ceramic, textile, glass and metal. The historic and contemporary table adornments are united by their inspiration: Rockingham Pottery was commonly decorated with flowers, fauna and fruit, and contemporary crafts people continue to seek inspiration in the natural world.

The exhibition oscillates between the old and new, giving pause to think about the changing nature of creativity, flowering from roots grounded in our history.
