Ecclesall Woods is an area of ancient woodland in south-west Sheffield, between Abbeydale Road South and Ecclesall.
The largest ancient woodland in South Yorkshire, it covers approximately 350 acres (1.4 km2) of mature semi-natural deciduous woodland, and is home to a discovery centre, along with a small cafe.
The centre is a highly-regarded contemporary design crafted from wooden materials that blend with the natural landscape.
It is a great place from which to start your visit to Ecclesall Woods: in the main building you will find information about the Woods and a variety of free resources to take with you.
You're also welcome to rest a while in the central atrium with its glazed seating area overlooking a wildlife pond and bird feeding station.
On site facilities include toilets and the Woodland Coffee Stop Cafe, who serve up hot and cold beverages and bites to eat throughout the year.
