The Skate Central roller skating arena is located in the steel City of Sheffield and opened its doors to the public in the summer of 2005. The premises were formally the home of the ""Silver Blades"" ice rink which operated in the City from 1968 to 2005. Skate Central hosts weekly public roller skating sessions, children's birthday parties, roller hockey leagues and regularly hosts music concerts and amateur boxing events.
