Steel City Beer and Cider Festival 2024

16 Oct 2024 - 19 Oct 2024

The annual Steel City Beer and Cider Festival returns to Kelham Island Museum for the 48th year, from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 October.

As always, the event is organised by the Sheffield branch of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) and staffed entirely by volunteers, who want to share their passion for good beer, cider and perry.

The festival features a massive selection with over 300 different drinks to choose from (all served in a commemorative glass), along with live music, street food, traditional pub games and more, in a wonderfully atmospheric venue.

On the beer front there's usually a whole variety of styles across cask, keg, bottle and can, from the traditional styles like mild, bitter and stout right through to modern IPAs, sours and more.

On the cider and perry bar, expect proper farmhouse styles made from fermented freshly pressed apple or pear juice, with a number of small artisan producers featured as well as some well-known names.

Buying drinks
To keep things easy and secure for the volunteers and speed up service a little, the festival bars only accept tokens. You can buy tokens from the token desks around the festival (they accept payment for tokens by cash or card) and the admission package includes enough to get your first drink.

Don’t worry if you don’t spend them all, they can refund up to £5 worth of unused tokens (or you can donate them to charity). Third party traders such as the food stalls and Millowners Arms accept cash or card as normal.
